Creation of a future-proof business park

A workplace from another planet

Description

Nextensa’s goal with Moonar was to bring a somewhat outdated office complex into the 21st century. Over the years, the buildings’ various owners and occupiers had added new elements which had evolved in a somewhat disorderly manner. So one of the first steps was to bring greater coherence to the whole and update all the technology and infrastructure. To achieve this, Nextensa began with a far-reaching scraping of the buildings, retaining only the concrete structure with its unusual architecture. The outer shell was then fully renovated: the facade was given a facelift, the roof was resealed and the frames were replaced. The entrance halls were also totally revamped to double the height and offer site users new functions. Each hall in the building will provide a different service: café, library, brainstorming room, games room and a pop-up room that may change from day to day, housing a hair stylist, a nail salon, a yoga workshop, etc.

Mobility, services and sustainability lie at the heart of this project. The esplanade between the various office buildings is to become an oasis of green, a place for meeting and interaction. Nextensa will also fine-tune its services for future users.

Located just a stone’s throw from Luxembourg airport, Moonar is an innovative business park that offers unrivalled accessibility and a wide range of services on and off site.

From restaurants to a games room, as well as a fitness area and even health care, the business park is designed to provide employees with everything they need to feel at ease and productive at their workplace. Another of the site’s big advantages is its parking capacity. It has a ratio of one parking space per 26 sqm.

The first building - D building - has been fully renovated (windows and glazing, false ceilings, HVAC, plumbing, etc.). A and B buildings are scheduled for completion in the middle of this year and the renovation of the remainder of the site will be finished by the end of 2023.

The sky was already within reach thanks to the airport close by. So now they’re aiming for the moon…
